About the Kelvin Suburb of Sandton

Kelvin is a suburb of Sandton situated to the east of the M1 highway and to the north of Marlboro road in Johannesburg, South Africa. A security area, Kelvin is closed off by gates and access is controlled by traffic booms from only two points in the suburb.

The Meadway Sports Club is situated in Kelvin and this green area is run by the Johannesburg City Parks Department. Kelvin is seviced by only one small shopping centre but there are large shopping centres in nearby suburbs.

The southern area of Kelvin consists of the Alexandra township and light industry. The Kelvin on ramp to the M1 highway gives access to the Buccleuch Interchange where three of South Africa's major highways meet.
